"Chelsea's Everlasting Rose"
(Click on slide to see full picture)
I recently developed a new workshop I call "Hot Color Applique" for quilt guilds and quilt shops. As soon as Brooklynne saw the lily I did she asked me if I would teach her how to do it. She wanted to make a rose the color of her Mommy's favorite rose and give it to her next month for her birthday. So what is a Gammy to do? I immediately set about creating a rose pattern for her to use and taught her how to do "Hot Color Applique". Brooklynne was the official first student of my new workshop and she did an AMAZING job!
The August (2019) Plantation Quilting Guild meeting was going to be the last guild meeting Brooklynne would be able to go to for awhile because the next day she was starting school. I knew she wanted to take her rose to the meeting for Show and Tell even though it wasn't quilted yet. Well, I just couldn't let that happen so I stayed up the entire night before the meeting and got it quilted. The look on her face when she woke up the next morning and saw that I had it all quilted for her was "priceless" and worth feeling like I had been drug through the dirt the next couple of days. lol
She's so proud of "Chelsea's Everlasting Rose" and can't wait for her Mommy's birthday to be here.
