Hi! I'm Belinda Soderberg
I live in Freeport TX, a tiny little town on the Texas Gulf Coast about 60 miles from Houston. I'm married to my wonderful husband Steve and I have a daughter, son and 3 grandchildren by my daughter.

I started sewing by hand when I was about 6 and by the time I was 9 or 10 I was sewing clothes for myself. When I first started sewing clothes I did it  was on a treadle sewing machine that came with a bedroom full of used furniture my parents' had purchased for my room. I used the treadle cabinet as my desk for doing my homework after school. When I was done with my homework, I would open it up and sew my latest outfit I was making on that beautiful treadle machine. I wish I still had that machine. I do have a treadle machine in my living room and a few that have been gifted to me that I need to restore. Over the years I sewn many garments for myself and my family, including most of the formal dresses I wore to special events.

I was always fascinated with quilting and finally in the early 1990's I had a talk with myself, "What are you waiting for?! You're not getting any younger!" So, I finally transitioned from sewing garments to piecing quilt tops. I was hooked immediately and I've been fascinated with this art form, that's how I view every aspect of quilting, ever since. My wonder and awe at the creativity and ingenuity of my fellow quilters world-wide grows everyday.

I'm lucky in that we are now 4 generations of quilters in my family. My mom, myself and my grand daughter. My daughter joined the fun in the fall of 2017, making it a complete 4 generations. By then her daughter had already won her first 2 ribbons at our guild's 2017 quilt show.  In our guild's upcoming quilt show (2019) we will have all 4 generations with entries!  I love watching how excited my grand daughter gets as one of her projects comes together. Her little sister will be starting her first quilt top this summer and like her sister I'll be making her piece her first one by hand. I hope we have many more years of the 4 gens creating together.
Keep on stitching & creating!
Belinda
