Carpenter's Wheel Quilt-Not Named Yet

I was trying to figure out what Brooklynne's next quilt should be and I remembered that at the 2019 Plantation Quilting Guild Quilt Show there were a couple of Carpenter Wheel quilts that she seemed to really gravitate to. I asked her what she thought about doing one as her next quilt and she said "Gammy I really LOVE that pattern but I think it might be a little too complicated for me to try yet." 

 

That evening while she was watching a movie I designed a throw size Carpenter's Wheel quilt in EQ. I had her come and look at it and I asked her to try to figure out what type of units were used to make it. After studying it a few minutes her eyes lit up like Christmas morning and she said "Gammy, those are the exact same units I made for my "Stars Just Wanna Have Fun Quilt"!! They are just laid out different!" BINGO!! There she goes..running for her stash totes and picking out fabrics and of course "shopping" in Gammy's stash again as well. She has the half square triangles for the center star made and after I get through my hectic September schedule she'll be putting it on the design wall and working on the half square triangles for the ring around the star.

I've incorporated some braid borders in her pattern so she'll be learning something new as well on this quilt. I try to add something she hasn't done yet with each new quilt.
